This Turmeric Latte has a subtle lavender taste (including it’s relaxing benefits) due to lavender infused oil that is added.
Creating the oil in a water bath is the most time intense step of this recipe, but once you have made some, you can use it for weeks! The process is actually really simple and fun, it just includes a couple of hours waiting time until the oil has soaked up all the good lavender oils. We will highlight the step below followed by the actual latte recipe.

What you will need for the oil:

  • Pot for the water bath
  • 1 mason jar to create the oil in
  • 1 cup edible lavender buds
  • some olive, coconut, avocado or grapeseed oil to cover the lavender buds in

Directions:

  • Make sure the mason jar is clean and dry. Put as many lavender buds in as desired.
  • Add the oil and make sure it covers all lavender buds
  • Mix oil and lavender and stir around for 1 minute to help the lavender release its oil.
  • Pour enough water in the pot so that the mason jar can stand in it without the screw top being covered.
  • Close the mason jar and put into the pot
  • Set the heat quite low, so that the water is just below boiling point.
  • Leave the mason jar for 5-8 hours.
  • You can shake the jar half way through in order to mix the content again
  • After 5-8 hours take the jar out and leave to cool down.
  • Strain the oil through a cheese cloth or a very tight strainer to make sure that there are no lavender buds left in the oil

What you will need for the turmeric latte:

  • 1 cup of plant milk
  • 2 turmeric and black pepper capsules
  • 1/2 teaspoon of lavender oil
  • optional: 1 teaspoon of raw honey, agave syrup or coconut sugar

Directions:

  • Heat the milk on a stove or frother
  • Carefully open the capsules and pour the content into  the milk.
  • Add the lavender oil and honey
  • Blend with love
  • ENJOY
