How to Stay Sane in Times of Corona

Nature's Antidote

What odd times we are in right now… Small business are facing bankruptcy and our actions are restricted so many ways.

On the contrary, our beautiful planet has some time to breathe and we finally have room to do the things we wanted to do in so long.

For a starter kit on self-isolation, find some tips below that will ensure you stay sane in this weird period.

MEDITATE

You can mediate on your own terms – As an inspiration, you can use the Universal Mantra “So Hum” (pronounced SO HAM) Internally speak ‘SO’ on your inhale and ‘HUM’ on your exhale

Use Youtube or Insight Timer (a great free app with hundreds, if not thousands, of guided meditations)

OR Join meditation challenges!

I am currently running one on WhatsApp which is a great way to stay connected and hold yourself accountable. If you want inspiration or join the challenge, get in touch via Instagram @lilibuechner

READ

Both fiction and non-fiction

This is a great time to choose a book that takes you into another world, but also to read something about a topic that you always wanted to learn. I bought the book Circe for literally 2 GBP on iBooks and really enjoy reading it in the evenings as it takes your mind far far away.

SOME OTHER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BOOK IDEAS :

WORK ON YOUR DREAMS

Whatever they are, however far they seem to be away… Take them seriously and start drafting a plan. If you need some guidance on manifesting, look for videos on Youtube, they will definitely inspire you in some way.

STAY FIT

Go outside for a run or walk or watch Youtube videos!

There are fun and effective Pilates or Yoga videos that will make sure you stay in shape AND get those endorphine levels up

STAY HEALTHY

Drink lots of water, eat your greens and boost the immune system by eating fruits that are high in Vitamin C

USE HERBS THAT DESTRESS, PROMOTE SLEEP AND RELIVE ANXIETY

Reishi modulates adrenal and cortisol levels and thus relieves anxiety and lowers stress. It also promotes sleep (I’ve been taken a lot of Reishi lately and sleep soooo well!)

Ashwaghanda is an Ayurvedic herb and similar to Reishi amazing against anxiety, stress and panic attacks. It also makes you sleep like a baby, without tiring you out during the day.

Our Heart Chakra blend contains Reishi, Red Rose (A nervine that creates a beautiful bond with Adaptogens (Reishi) and thus enhances the effect) and Lavender (grandma’s go to Herb for ANYTHING including relaxation)

SET UP A MORNING ROUTINE

We recommend to include:

meditation, cold showers (at least for 1 minute following a hot shower, watch this video of Guru Harijiwan with more information and a Kundalini technique) and moving the body. Including a herbal tea in the morning to feed the system and soul is a great way too.

CONNECT WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY VIA SKYPE

I try talking to at least 3 people daily, including my local friends in Sri Lanka who are happy to include me on their daily beach strolls via FaceTime – which in a weird way helps to ease my cravings for the tropics.
