We may not have all heard of the Kybalion – a philosophical novel written way back in 1908. But over one hundred years later, its content is probably something we can all resonate with in some way: The Law of Correspondence follows the adage “as below; so is above” and suggests that our current outer reality is a mirror of what’s going on inside of us. It’s important to find and create harmony and agreement between our inner and outer realities, and in turn by creating equilibrium and enhancement within, we will  experience it on the outside too.

We can also apply this mindset when uniting our internal and external beauty. Our outer beauty attracts and our inner beauty captivates, so with Nature’s Antidote as an ally in our health, skin and beauty regimes and daily rituals, medicinal herbal products can help us incorporate this preventative healing into our everyday. In a nutshell, let’s radiate from the inside out.

It turns out that mushrooms truly are magical. It’s well known that the use of medicinal mushrooms can boost our immune systems as well as support our mental and cognitive clarity. However, more recently these little fungi have been shown to have a profoundly positive and healing effect on our skin too.

Chaga Mushroom

Chaga is excellent for fighting against ageing and irritation in our skin. Environmental damage, pollution and sun exposure are responsible for radical free damage in the body. Our friend Chaga, full of antioxidants, vitamin D, melanin and selenium, is said to have the potential and power to combat the impact of what’s called oxidative stress – better known as wrinkles and sagging.

Reishi Mushroom

Reishi can also work wonders in supporting the health of our skin. With its high levels of triterpenes and beta-glucans (immune system assisting sugars), Reishi supports the skin’s natural ability to hold onto and retain moisture, helping to nourish and hydrate dry and irritated skin. Reishi’s highly hydrating property has been compared to hyaluronic acid, an ingredient that has featured in countless skincare brands throughout the past few years for its “hydrating superpower”. Reishi also has antihistamine, antimicrobial and antiallergenic qualities. This cocktail of properties stimulates the immune system, enhances circulation and accelerates skin healing, making it an excellent tool against sunburn, wounds, insect bites and rashes.

Turmeric – the sunset coloured spice – is also a powerful addition to our skin and beauty routine. Turmeric has been shown to revitalise scalp health and stimulate hair as well as nail growth, with the potential to transform thinning hair and damaged or brittle nails. Also packed with antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, turmeric supports the skins natural repair process, helping to fight and calm skin conditions such as psoriasis, as well as reduce scarring left behind by acne. Turmeric also unlocks our radiance and brightens us, reducing dark circles/hyperpigmentation and rekindling our natural glow.
